The Met Office issues weather warning for rain to come in Kent

By: Ellis Stephenson

After a night of heavy rain and thunderstorms, the Met Office has issued a new weather warning for rain.

The yellow notice has been issued as "further, possibly severe, thunderstorms may break out again" through the afternoon and into this evening.

We have also been warned to brace ourselves for possible spells of localised flooding which could affect homes, properties and businesses in the county.

Kent is expected to be battered by wind

A spokesman for the weather service said: "Although some places will miss the thunderstorms, there is a chance of localised sudden flooding of homes, businesses and roads.

"Frequent lightning and large hail may be additional hazards, the latter bringing potential for disruption to power networks."

The warning is in force until 11.55pm tonight.
