Drivers whizzing through a village will know where they are again thanks to some solid campaigning.

It has been more than two years since St Mary’s Bay lost its village sign in a dispute over its position.

Since then the parish council has been trying to get the sign back to boost tourism and now a giant one is in place.

While the sands of St Mary’s Bay are justifiably famous, any tourist passing through had no idea where they were, suddenly finding themselves in New Romney.
