Kent is braced for more gale-force winds.

The weather experts have issued a yellow weather warning this morning, following a blustery weekend across the county.

The warning is in place for 24 hours from 9am.

The Met Office said: "Tuesday and Wednesday sees another likely period of strong winds and gales, with some disruption to transport possible."

It added that some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport were likely.

Bus and train services could also be affected by the high winds, it said, and temporary power disruption is possible.

Gusts of wind are likely to exceed 50mph for quite a few places, with exposed coasts and hills seeing gusts in excess of 60mph.

Parts of the coast, including seafronts and coastal communities, could also be affected by spray or large waves.

"Whilst not exceptional, winds this strong are unusual for August and they will be accompanied by some heavy rain in places, with possible transport disruption and impacts on outdoor activities," the Met Office added.

Trains across the county have faced delays today due to the weather conditions, with a number of trees causing disruptions after falling onto tracks.
