KENT Police are still appealing for witnesses to a road crash which claimed a woman's life.

The victim, from Rochester, was a passenger in a white Renault Kango van travelling on Blue Bell Hill towards Chatham on Sunday just after 8pm. The vehicle overturned. Police say the woman was declared dead on arrival at hospital.

It is believed no other vehicle was involvedin the tragedy. The van driver was also taken to hospital.

Firefighters from Maidstone and Medway attended the scene and the road was closed until just after midnight.
