Leaders Woking proved too strong for Welling United in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.
Although the Wings took an early lead through skipper Jack Parkinson, goals from Tom Davis and Giuseppe Sole either side of the break ensured the hosts moved 12 points clear of Jamie Day's side.
Welling keeper Craig Holloway had to make a smart stop as early as the fourth minute to deny Moses Ademola before Kieran Murtagh fired just wide from 20 yards.
The visitors opened the scoring when Jack Obersteller's free-kick found its way to Parkinson who took a touch before slotting home at the far post.
Welling then enjoyed their best spell but failed to convert two excellent chances to put the game beyond the home side. Within a minute of going ahead, Loick Pires beat the offside trap but shot over with just keeper Aaron Howe to beat and then Pires' deep cross picked out Harry Baker, who enjoyed an excellent first half, but his right foot shot was blocked by Derek Duncan.
Woking survived the pressure and got themselves back on level terms nine minutes before the break when Kevin Betsy set-up Davis to fire home.
The decisive goal arrived 12 seconds into the second half when Sole caught the Welling defence napping and produced an excellent 20-yard left foot shot beyond Holloway.
The Wings keeper then punched Paris Cowan-Hall's shot away for a corner before the save of the game denied the same player two minutes later.
Welling failed to get their passing game going in the second half although they twice came close to an equaliser, Luis Cumbers right-foot shot was saved by Howe while 10 minutes from time Cumbers' penalty appeal was turned down after the Woking keeper appeared to make contact in the area.
Next-up for Wings is a trip to Maidenhead on Tuesday.
