A WOMAN had her money stolen by a robber as she withdrew money from a cash machine.

The woman was at the NatWest bank in Ashford Road, Bearsted, near Maidstone, at about 6.55pm on Wednesday when the man grabbed the notes from the cash machine and ran down an alleyway behind the parade of shops in Yeoman Lane.

The area around the shops, including the bank, supermarket and estate agent was taped off as police officers searched the area.

Although the woman was not hurt during the robbery she was left shaken. She has not been named.
