Woman's death not suspicious

A PENSIONER found dead at her home died of natural causes, a coroner has said.

Yesterday, a house was sealed off by police after a 95-year-old woman's body was discovered by relatives at the property in White Horse Hill, Chislehurst.

Forensic officers and a medical examiner were sent to the scene and the homicide investigation team at Lewisham was put on standby pending their findings.

But last night the coroner said the death was not suspicious and the woman had died of natural causes.

Police were being particularly cautious in ruling out any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death in the wake of an attack that police say led to the death of a pensioner in Orpington.

Margaret Hawkins, who was in her 80s, died on November 18, two days after a robbery at her home, in Charterhouse Road.
