Former X Factor contestant Mary Byrne has cancelled her scheduled appearance in Maidstone tonight.

The 50-year-old singer, who used to be a Tesco checkout worker, had to drop out of the performance in the county town's Liquid nightclub because of illness.

The Dublin diva was booted out of the programme at the semi-final stage last weekend. She has since reportedly signed a record deal with Sony.
