A Medway teenager has been served with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.

Jack Harbour, 18, from Gillingham was sentenced to 16 months detention in a young offenders institution following two assaults.

He has now also been issued with a three year ASBO preventing him from being in a state of drunkenness in any place in England and Wales.

Anti-social behaviour officer Jackie Lineham who coordinated the case, said: "This action is about enforcing acceptable levels of behaviour and creating an environment in which people can feel safe.

"We will not hesitate in taking action against the minority of people who are intent on intimidating or harassing others."

Chief Insp Des Keers said, "Medway residents have the right to enjoy their own homes and environment in peace and without fear.

"By working closely with our partners to secure this ASBO we have achieved another significant step towards reducing antisocial behaviour in the area.

"I am confident that the granting of this ASBO enforces Kent Police’s message that we will use all the powers available to us to curb antisocial and unruly behaviour.

"We will continue to work in close partnership with Medway Council and the local people to build stronger, safer communities’.
