Gillingham clinched a double signing before the weekend and Andy Hessenthaler hasn’t ruled out the possibility of more additions following Saturday’s defeat.
The Gills boss (pictured) signed Jo Kuffour on a permanent deal from Bristol Rovers on Thursday night, just hours after adding forward Gavin Tomlin to the squad on loan from Dagenham. Both have joined until the end of the season.
Those arrivals have stretched Gillingham’s transfer budget to the limit but Hessenthaler has warned his players that nobody’s future is safe after they laboured to a 2-0 defeat at Shrewsbury.
"After that performance I think there are a few people under pressure," said Hessenthaler.
"We are not here to just see the season out like we did last year, missing out on the play-offs. We are here to get something this season.
"With a couple of weeks left with the transfer window open, who knows? The chairman has stretched the budget as it is and he has helped us, but like I said to the players, after that performance we are all under pressure.
"We now need a massive performance against Wimbledon (this Saturday)."
