Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler applauds the fans at full-time at Edgar Street Picture: Barry Goodwin

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler described his side’s performance in the goalless draw at Hereford as “phenomenal."
The Gills hit the post in the first half, through Chris Palmer, and only a superb save in injury time, from Danny Spiller’s shot, denied his side of claiming a win on away soil.
Hessenthaler said: “I was absolutely delighted with the team and I thought we were phenomenal. Over the 90 minutes we deserved to win the game.
“First half we played the ball really well and the pleasing thing for me was that we’ve worked at things on the training ground this week, like set pieces, and on another day we could have gone in at the break 2-0 up.
"We hit the post, we worked a good couple of situations, one from a free-kick and one from a corner, and I couldn’t ask for any more from the players.
“I told the players that if they keep showing that desire and passion, all of the things that we demand, then we’ll have a good season without a doubt.
“I’m disappointed we haven’t won it, especially at the death. It was a fantastic save from the keeper and it would have topped it off had we won the game 1-0.”
