Frenchman Bruce Inkango will be offered a short-term deal at Gillingham this week after he again impressed for the reserves.
Inkango scored during the 3-2 defeat at Leyton Orient on Tuesday and boss Andy Hessenthaler wants him to stay at Priestfield.
Hessenthaler said: "Bruce was quiet first half and didn’t do what he is good at, which is getting at people. In the second half, he shone and got a good goal.
"We’re speaking to his agent. We want to do something as he gives us something different. We’ve got Andy Barcham but haven’t got too many of that type of player.
"It might be that we do something similar to Stanley (on a monthly basis) but we can’t be dictated to. We’ve got a budget to work with and if we do something, then it’s got to be right."
Free agent Inkango has previously played for AS Cannes and RCF Paris. He also played 90 minutes for Gillingham reserves against Brentford last week.
