Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has ruled out a move for former Charlton defender Grant Basey.

The 21-year-old was released by the Addicks at the end of last season, and after training with Aberdeen during the pre-season, he returned to England to be watched by Hessenthaler.

Ho took part in training at Beechings Cross at the back end of last week but the Gills boss won’t be making the player an offer.

"At this stage I didn’t think he is for us," he said.
