Gillingham have scrapped next month’s scheduled pre-season encounter against Dover Athletic.

The two sides were due to meet at Crabble on Saturday, July 24 in a friendly match.

Since the end of the season Whites have lost two managers and their academy boss to the Gills and those successive defections to the League 2 club infuriated Dover chairman Jim Parmenter.

Dover have already arranged a match at Dulwich Hamlet on that date and the Gills are expected to announce an alternative fixture soon.
