Ants in pants for Jungle Joe

Joe was left with ants in his pants after taking part in the Dread Over Heals bush tucker trial.

The ex-EastEnder, who is due to appear in pantomime at the Central Theatre next week, was strapped onto a giant wheel whilst campmate Simon Webbe was strapped into another wheel beneath him.

Fellow team mate Nicola McLean then had to rotate the two men to manoeuvre a ball from one wheel to the other before dropping it into a hole.

Each ball was worth one meal. Sounds easy, but whilst carrying out the challenge, critters such as cockroaches, green ants and crickets were emptied into the wheels making the task slightly more difficult than the celebs first anticipated.

Joe squealed and squirmed his way through the trial and the cheeky cockney really suffered when the green ants started to bite him.

But his suffering was worth it in the end as he and Simon won eight out of nine meals for the camp.

As he was released from the wheel Joe started jumping around trying to get the ants out of his pants, much to the amusement of presenters Ant and Dec.

As he pulled his clothes off Joe screamed: "Those green ants love a bit of meat don't they."

Not long after returning to camp Joe was sent off again, but this time with Timmy to shear sheep.

The aim of the game was to find numbers under the fleece to win the celebrity chest.

During the trial Joe had a near miss after catching the crotch of his shorts with the shearers.

He said: " I nearly cut off ‘Alfie’ but he survived."

With the chest in the camp, the celebrities had to answer the question in order to retrieve the contents. ‘Which Royal Prince would gay men rather date, Prince William or Harry.’

George initially thought William but Joe pushed him to make a decision by asking him who he would chose if they were both naked. George still said William but when everyone else suggested Harry, George agreed.

It was the right answer and the celebrities found they had won tea and a dozen Jaffa cakes biscuits from Cerys Matthews.

The camp is down to seven. Robert Kilroy-Silk, Dani Behr, Carly Zucker, Esther Rantzen and Timmy Mallet have all left the jungle.

Joe will play Buttons in Cinderella at the Central Theatre, Chatham, from Friday, December 12.
