DETECTIVES hunting an intruder who used an axe to break into a house have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attempted burglary.

Medway police released the picture hoping it would jog people's memories.

The incident happened on June 29 in Boley Hill, Rochester, between 2.40pm and 3.05pm.

The intruder smashed a window, climbed inside the house and used an axe to gain entry into other parts of the building, damaging a number of doors.
