Appeal after serious sex assault on teenager

A MAN has been arrested following an allegation of a serious sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl.

She was allegedly assaulted at the riverside, Medway Valley Business Park, Strood, at 2.20am on Saturday.

The area was cordoned off and crime scene investigators scoured the scene for forensic evidence.

An 18-year-old suspect from Sheppey has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.

Det Sgt Adam Marshall said: "At the time the incident occurred there would have been quite a few people in the area, either leaving the nightclub or meeting friends outside.

"These people may have witnessed something that proves crucial to this investigation. I would like to hear from anyone who may be able to help us with our inquiries."
