KENT Police have released the image of a boy they are keen to speak with in connection with the theft of bird watching equipment.

The incident occurred at Halling Lakes, Formby Road, Halling, near Rochester, between 9.55am and 10.35am on Thursday, October 26.

A 67-year-old Chatham man was taking photographs of birds when two teenage boys riding bicycles approached him and asked what he was doing.

The man showed the boys the photographs he had taken and the pair rode off.

Sometime later boys returned with three other teenager and stole a camera, binoculars and other equipment valued at £2,500.

Sally Smith, police media and communications officer, said: "No violence was used although the man did feel threatened by the group’s behaviour."

One of the suspects is described as white, aged around 16, and of stocky build. He wore a baseball cap with ‘NY’ on it. He was accompanied by another male described as being white and aged about 14. He was wearing a light coloured cargo trousers and a baseball cap.
