Police investigating the death of a twenty-nine year old woman from West Kent are trying to trace the driver of a van seen parked close to where the crash happened.

Felicity Austin was driving a black Renault Megane when she was in collision with an unmarked Metropolitan Police car, a black Skoda, on Tuesday 5th May just after 12.30pm.

It happened just north of the Longfield Road roundabout on the A21.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the incident.

IPCC Commissioner Mike Franklin said: "We have had a very positive response to witness appeals so far and I would like to thank all those who have come forward to help with our investigation.

"We are now particularly keen to speak to the owner or driver of a van which numerous witnesses have mentioned as being at the scene of the incident. So far we have had mixed descriptions of the van but what has been consistent is that it was a small van rather than a transit van and we do believe it was either parked or stopped at the side of the road when the collision happened.

"The driver of that van may well be a vital witness who could provide important information to our investigation and I want to appeal directly to that person to contact the IPCC or Kent Police as soon as possible."

Anybody who witnessed the collision is asked to contact either Kent Police on 01622 798 538 or the IPCC on 0207 166 3000.
