POLICE are appealing for help tracing the family of a man killed after he was apparently struck by a car.

Jeffrey Walton, 53, of no fixed home, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in Ashford Road, Bearsted, near Maidstone, on January 19. The incident happened at about 9.45pm.

It is understood Mr Walton may have been walking in the middle of the road prior to the incident.

Police are keen to speak to the driver of one car in particular. It was heading from Bearsted towards Hollingbourne moments before the crash.It was thought to be the only car on that side of the road at the time.

Traffic officers also want to track down members of Mr Walton's family who have not yet come forward.
