DETECTIVES investigating the discovery of human bones found in woods near the Brands Hatch racing circuit want to trace relatives of a man who vanished 10 years ago.

The bones were discovered by workmen clearing branches at Horton Woods, Fawkham Green, near West Kingsdown, on October 19.

Since then Kent Police have been carrying out intensive investigations, working with a number of specialists and talking to members of the public, in a bid to identify the remains.

Tests showed that the bones belong to a man who may have had a debilitating back problem.

Further enquiries have given officers a number of leads which are currently under investigation, including information regarding a well-known local resident who was reported missing in November, 1995. Irishman Patrick Folen, also known as Paddy, lived in Church Road for a short time but was well known in the area by other residents.

Kent Police would like to speak to the family of Mr Folen in a bid to further their investigations.

Anyone with any contact with his family or has any further details regarding Mr Folen is asked to contact Kent Police on 01622 654860.
