ARMED police were called to a home in Kent at the weekend after receiving reports that a man had been threatened with a gun.

A 48-year-old man was arrested in Hereson Road, Ramsgate, at about 3.45pm on Sunday.

The armed reponse unit was called as a precaution but searches for the reported firearm are continuing.

No shots were fired. The man is in custody on suspicion of firearms offences.
