POLICE hunting an armed robber who stole £300 from a Sheppey service station on Sunday evening are examining CCTV footage from the site.
Alison Jones, manager of the BP service station at Queenborough Corner, said the man, who had a knife up his sleeve, walked into the forecourt shop at about 10.30pm and demanded money from the woman cashier.
The cashier and another female member of staff walked to the till and the cashier handed the takings to the robber.
Mrs Jones said a panic alarm was activated and the man left the shop calmly.
She said the robber was captured on the station forecourt’s CCTV system, but she added: “We don’t know if he used a car to get here. He walked across the forecourt and then left. Both women are OK. They are both calm people.”
Mrs Jones said that one of the staff had noticed the man had a knife tucked up his sleeve. Two customers were in the shop at the time of the robbery.
A suspect being sought in connection with the robbery is described as white, aged between 18 and 25, of slim build with dark, brown cropped hair. He wore a blue sweatshirt, dark tousers or jeans with a motif on the back pocket, and white trainers.
