Arrest after alleged petrol station robbery

A man has been arrested following an alleged hold up at a petrol station.

Kent Police say two men, one of whom was holding what appeared to be a gun, walked into a service station in Ramsgate an hour before closing time and stole cash from the till.

No-one was injured in the incident, which happened at the Total garage on West Cliff Road at around 9.55pm last night.

Less than four hours later, armed police officers arrested a 36-year-old Ramsgate man on suspicion of robbery. He is currently in police custody awaiting interview.
