POLICE were called to a McDonald's in a Kent town after reports that a man armed with a gun was robbing the restaurant.
A 999 call was made from the fast-food outlet in Chatham High Street at about 10.15am on Wednesday while the incident was taking place.
Police later arrested a man after carrying out a search of the area. It is not known if any money was taken.
A section of the High Street around the restaurant was cordoned off as a forensic team moved.
It is the second attack in five days on McDonald's branches in the Medway area. Police are still hunting two raiders who terrified staff at the chain's outlet in Strood, near Rochester, in the early hours of last Friday.
The men, who were armed with an axe and a sledgehammer, ordered staff to open the safe and escaped with about £2,000.
