Police investigating a report of a sexual assault on a schoolgirl in a Gravesend park, have arrested a man in his 40s.

Officers put a cordon in place around a park in Central Avenue, on Thursday, following the incident, which happened between 6.30pm and 8pm.

A spokesman for Kent Police, said: "Officers investigating a report of a sexual assault on a 10-year-old girl arrested a man in his 40s on Saturday evening. He remains in police custody."
