ABOUT 125 people are being told their stored belongings have been lost in a huge blaze.

Fire engulfed a barn owned by Coppards Removals at Scrubs Farm, Lower Gravel Road, Bromley.

Forty firefighters from Bromley and neighbouring boroughs fought the flames for five hours, but nothing could be saved.

Arsonists are suspected of starting the fire which also destroyed an adjoining scaffolding yard and damaged four cars, two lorries and a caravan. The blaze started at 10.30pm on Saturday.

A 21st birthday party came to an abrupt end as nearby Old Bromleians football club had to be evacuated. No one was hurt.

Anyone with any information is asked to Det Insp Paul White at Bromley Police on 020 8721 4522.
