Ashford born cyclist grabs Gold for GB

Brabourne born Jamie Staff has helped claim Great Britain's third gold medal of the Beijing Olympics.

The 35 year old former North School pupil, who now spends most of his time based in Stockport and California, was part of the three man sprint team that edged out the French on Friday lunchtime.

Fellow riders Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny brought home the gold medal in a winning time of 43.121 secs.

Staff was also part of the team who were edged out to silver by the same French team in this year's World Championships in Manchester, back in March.
