Ashford man arrested in Julian Gardner murder case

A 45-year-old Ashford man has been arrested today on suspicion of the murder of Sussex businessman Julian Gardner at his home in October.

The man from is being questioned by detectives. He is the twelfth person to be arrested during the inquiry.

The body of Mr Gardner, 53, was found on October 11. Detectives investigating the death believe it was a burglary that went wrong.

The other 11 people arrested in connection with the investigation have all been released on bail pending further enquiries.

These include a 39-year-old from Chilmington, a 31-year-old from Ashford and a 32-year-old from Cranbrook bailed to March 21.

A 31-year-old from Ashford, a 56-year-old from Sandhurst, a 22-year-old from Tunbridge Wells and a 29-year-old from Cranbrook have been bailed to March 22.

A 43-year-old from Maidstone, a 40-year-old from Ashford, a 37-year-old from Ashford and a 31-year-old from Ashford have been bailed to March 23.
