An Ashford man has appeared in court again today over a crash that killed a 16-year-old girl.
Brian Hampton, of Hornash Lane, Shadoxhurst, is charged with causing the death of Jade Clark by careless driving.
The 58-year-old faces eight other charges - three of driving while disqualified, three of driving without insurance, one of failing to stop at an accident and one of failing to report an accident.
Hampton appeared via video link at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court and heard the charge of causing death by careless driving will be dealt with at crown court.
He did not enter pleas and was remanded in custody after his second appearance in court. Hampton is due back before magistrates on Monday, April 22.
Jade had been riding her moped along the A31 in Dorset when she was hit by a Volvo XC90 car on February 24. She died from a severe head injury.
Dorset police launched an extensive search for a Volvo XC90 and more than 1,000 vehicles were eliminated during the search.
