Ashley Shaw makes his four-day debut for Kent in their LV=County Championship Division 2 game against Derbyshire at Canterbury on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old left-arm seamer from Cheshire gets his chance as injuries continue among the county’s bowlers.

Robbie Joseph declared himself unfit after a net session on Monday, having returned against Loughborough University last week following a quad muscle problem, Simon Cook is still ruled out by a broken thumb and Dewald Nel (back) has suffered another setback.

Alex Blake will be out for at least a month after pulling a hamstring against Loughborough, while Darren Stevens will play as a batsman only, still troubled by a trapped nerve in his shoulder.

However Joe Denly plays his first four-day game for a month after recovering from a broken thumb.
