A 48-year-old man injured in an assault in King Edward Street, Whitstable, on Saturday, January 27, is still in a serious condition in hospital in Margate.

Police say a 16-year-old Whitstable boy arrested on Thursday, February 1, on suspicion of assault, causing GBH and burglary has been bailed until March 23, pending a CPS decision to prosecute.

The boy was the third person to be arrested in connection with the investigation.
