TWO people have been arrested and bailed in connection with an assault that left a man seriously injured in a field.

Members of the public alerted police to the incident at 10.50pm on Monday.

The victim was rescued from a field close to Durham Road and Etfield Grove, Sidcup. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious head and back injuries. He is said to be in a stable condition.

A 20-year-old man and a 14-year-old were arrested and questioned by police. Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
