A teenage girl denied attempted murder but admitted wounding with intent when she appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Student Jade Bennett, of Addiscombe Gardens, Margate, will stand trial on the attempted murder charge on August 20.

The 18-year-old is alleged to have attacked Thanet College student Sarah Ripley, 20, in Granville Road, Broadstairs, on January 19.

Bennett, who wiped away tears during the brief hearing, was remanded in custody.
