Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler praised the "first class" backing from club chairman Paul Scally.
Hessenthaler’s side are currently on a poor run of form but Mr Scally remains behind the Gills boss.
On Saturday Hessenthaler’s team lost 3-1, their third successive home defeat, while also dropping to 22nd in the League 2 table.
The Gills boss believes his side are lacking confidence and have gone backwards since surrendering the lead at home to Torquay at the end of October.
Hessenthaler also backed 17-year-old defender Callum Davies, after he was sent off on his debut in the Crewe defeat.
