WHEN a 21-year-old Kent woman was taken to hospital with excrutiating back pain, she was surprised to find herself whisked through A&E and on to maternity. Ten minutes later, she was holding tiny Jason Luke in her arms; a proud, and very surprised, mum.
Nadine Humphrys, from St Peter's, had been to the doctor and hospital several times before and had simply been given pain killers, believing her pain had come from injuries sustained through her work with horses at a livery yard.
But on January 23, it got so bad her father, Terry Humphrys-Parsons, called an ambulance. Shortly after that, all 5lbs 11oz of Jason Luke had arrived.
He now weighs more than 7lbs, and is being doted on by his surprise dad, Richard Edwards, of Margate, grandma Linda Humphrys-Parsons and six aunts and uncles.
Nadine said: "On Monday, January 22, I got trapped between a horse and a fence and I went up to the hospital. They gave me a pain killer and thought I had an injury in my spine."
