Police find baby 'unrestrained' in back of car and report driver

A driver was allegedly reported by police for having a baby "unrestrained" on the back seat of a car.

The child, who is less than a year old, was not in a car seat when spotted by Kent Police.

The news sparked outrage on social media, with many saying the motorist's actions "beggars belief".

Kent Police Road Policing Unit tweeted: "Driver of this vehicle reported for offence of having an unrestrained child in rear of car - less than 12 months old and not in a car seat!!"

The location of the incident has not yet been revealed or what has happened to the driver.

Debs Alderton tweeted: "What is wrong with people??? Seriously."

Paul Oliver wrote: "Unbelievable. That needs serious punishment."
