A pervert is facing a jail sentence for molesting young girls more than 15 years ago when he was a teenager.

Alan Tilley was remanded in custody after he was convicted of two charges of indecent assault and one of indecency with a child.

The 31-year-old, of Tadburn Green, Chatham, denied all three charges, but a jury convicted him by a 10-2 majority.

Maidstone Crown Court heard Tilley was 14 or 15 when he sexually assaulted the girls at various times while babysitting.

Steven Perian, prosecuting, said Tilley persuaded one of the victims to undress before he also stripped off and lay on top of her. He also got them to commit sex acts on him.

Years later, one of the girls told her mother Tilley had done "dirty and disgusting things" to her. The abuse was eventually reported to the police last year.

Tilley denied behaving inappropriately with any of the girls.

Adjourning sentence for three weeks, Judge Charles Macdonald QC told Tilley he would have to register as a sex offender.
