A YOUNG woman has told of her terrifying ordeal as a raider wearing a skeleton mask pointed a gun at her head.
The gunman broke into a social club in Ashford as barmaid Bianca King, 20, was locking up for the night, pointed a gun at her head, addressed her by name and demanded that she empty the safe.
He then stole more than £3,000 in cash before fleeing.
Ms King, from High Halden was working alone at the Kennington Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Club, Ulley Road, Kennington, last Friday night when a masked man broke in just after midnight.
She said: “The mask is what I saw first, I turned and he was there. I thought he was joking at first and then I saw the gun.”
The gunman forced Ms King to open the safe, and took cash, a bag of change and a smaller digital safe which Ms King did not have the code to open.
Ms King said: “He must have had knowledge of our premises as there was a tin of loose change between the bar and the fridge. He knew it was there and grabbed it.”
The masked man eventually fled after cutting the club’s phone lines and taking Ms King’s mobile, and the barmaid called the police from a nearby pub.
Detectives are now analysing CCTV footage from the area to try to identify the man.
Det Sgt Mark Buck, said: “This was a harrowing ordeal for the young lone female barmaid.”
Landlord and licensee of the club, Tony Alford , said: “I’m absolutely devastated that this has happened to a member of my staff. The club is really friendly.”
The gunman is described as in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 11ins, with a medium build and short hair, and was wearing navy blue trousers and zip-up jacket, black shoes, BMX-style gloves, and a cheap plastic skeleton mask.
The gun is described as a revolver-style handgun.
