Skipper Barry Fuller and defender Garry Richards were among the first players to meet new Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler.

The pair were among over a dozen Gills players out of contract at the end of last season - and Hessenthaler has offered them both new deals.

"They are two (players) we want to keep at this football club," said Hessenthaler, who only has Josh Gowling as a recognised centre-back still on the books at Priestfield.

"We had a good chat with them and want them to be part of it. I'm hoping that they'll stay."
