Beach murder: Man remanded in custody

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 53-year-old gay man, Charles Hasleden, at Ramsgate. Steven Munnerley, 33, of Codrington Road, Ramsgate, was remanded in custody by magistrates at Margate.

The case will be heard at Maidstone Crown Court at a date to be fixed. Mr Hasleden’s body was found on rocks on the beach beneath King George VI Memorial Park, near Dumpton gap on Wednesday, October 31. He

The discovery was made by Naomi Spens, a senior sales executive with the Kent Messenger Group, who was walking her dogs.
