There was hardly anyone to be seen on beaches in Thanet, Folkestone, Herne Bay and Whitstable.

But officers in Sevenoaks expressed their disappointment after seeing several cars parked up at Knole Park.

The government rules on coronavirus lockdown state people should only exercise near their homes, and not drive off to get their walk or run in another location.

But while beauty spots were left bereft of visitors, it was another story at supermarkets, as pictures show the Good Friday queue at Sainsbury's in Maidstone looping around the car park.

And staff at Waitrose in Allington, near Maidstone, burst into an impromptu performance of YMCA to lighten the mood of people stuck waiting outside.
