Bed store fined

AN ORPINGTON bed store got a wake up call when it was fined £915 for illegal advertising.

Sleepright on Sevenoaks Way pleaded guilty to leaving an advertising board on a grass verge outside their store.

The company was fined £1,600 for a similar offence in January.

Peter Turvey, Enforcement and Technical Support Manager for Bromley council, said: “They know that what they are doing is illegal and we can’t allow lives to be put at risk by signs that could potentially divert drivers’ attention and obstruct the public highway.”
