Bermudan fast bowler Damali Bell has joined the Kent Cricket Academy as part of a new partnership between the club and the overseas nation.
Bell’s arrival comes as part of the academy’s strategy to establish links with new organisations and the club have now formed a partnership with the Bermuda Cricket Board.
As part of a new initiative, called the Kent Cricket Academy Overseas Player Development Programme, the talented 19-year-old left armer joins for a six month period after being awarded a National Junior Athlete Sponsorship award by his country.
Kent director of cricket Paul Farbrace (pictured) said: "I am delighted that we have been able to tie up this link with the Bermudan Cricket Association and I look forward to this partnership helping both parties.
"Demali is a promising cricketer and I’m sure he will find the summer period with our academy a great help to his career."
High performance director at Kent, Simon Willis, added: "We are very much looking forward to enrolling Damali onto our coaching programme and giving him the experience of playing in a variety of conditions on offer.
"He will be exposed to a good quality of cricket as well as an intense training schedule with us as well as the opportunity to learn how to cope as an individual away from home comforts."
Bell was last in action for Bermuda on Tuesday, April 12 in the ICC World Cricket League Division Two in an 86 run defeat to Namibia. Bell took two wickets in the match.
Bermuda head coach David Moore said: "Damali is a hard working individual who shows commitment and dedication in practice and during games. I look forward to watching how he develops with this opportunity."
The Kent Cricket Academy Overseas Player Development Programme is available for up to three players per year, for players aged between 18 and 22.
