Everything is bigger in London. The attractions are bigger, the streets are bigger and the prices are bigger.
So where better to enjoy a night in the big city, than a big hotel?
As hotels go the Park Plaza Victoria is pretty huge. The lobby area seemed a bit intimidating at first but the staff at the front desk were welcoming and gave me a pleasant greeting.
The room was light and fresh, with complimentary mineral water and fruit and an inviting bed smothered in cushions.
The bathroom was clean and spacious and stacked with enough fancy toiletries to put a beauty therapist to shame.
With the room more than up to scratch it was time for dinner.
The smart bar and diner seemed to be doing a roaring trade with guests and passing trade alike. With two of the capital's biggest shows, Wicked and Billy Elliot, nearby it's no surprise this place does a good trade from theatre-goers. The delicious food is a big draw too.
The full English breakfast the next morning was also great, if overpriced, but it would certainly be worth getting it included in the room price.
As hotels go the Park Plaza Victoria is pretty good.
Yes, it lacks that little something that gives boutique hotels their charm, but what else would you expect from a big chain establishment?
If you're on business in the capital or looking for somewhere to stay after the theatre, you could do worse than book in here.
Prices start at an average of £109 on a room-only basis. For details or to book call 020 7769 9930 or visit www.parkplaza.com for the best offers.
