The biggest cross-Channel ferry makes its maiden voyage from Dover today.
P&O Ferries’ £152 million ship, Spirit of Britain, which can carry up to 2,000 passengers, was due to set sail for Calais at 9.20am.
It has three separate vehicle decks, with room for nearly two-and-a-half miles of traffic parked end-to-end.
Its sister ship, Spirit of France, is due to arrive in Dover in September.
