ROUNDS three and four of the Bemsee Nationwide championship are being hosted by the British Motorcycle Racing at Lydden this weekend.

The Bemsee club has received another record entry and every class is full to capacity.

Zak Barry, Carl Hunton and Clinton Wood, all Suzuki mounted, are the pick of the Powerbike class while last season’s double champion and winner of the coveted Mellano Trophy, Kenny Burns, starts favourite for Supersport 600 honours.

Former British Superstock rider Dave Higgins starts as a possible top points scorer in the Supertwins group, his Suzuki TLR 1000 challenging Steve Bullimore’s Aprilia RSV.

Recent MRO Supersport 400 class runner-up Paul Rogers will be difficult to contain in this group, but Doug Lloyd, Craig Clarke and Guildford’s 21-year-old Jay Fernandez will want a slice of the Supersport 400 action.

Last year’s Southern GP 125 champion Richard Diamond will be hard to beat on the tight demanding Lydden track.

The GP 250 group will take part in the same race and Jason Holland and Lee Finney will be the main riders to watch out for.

The 600cc and 400cc Rookies and Clubman will do battle again and the meeting will be supported in the solo classes with races for MZ, Yamaha TZR and LCs.

In the Sidecar races several Kent crews are in action. Simon and James Wightman from Herne Bay will be up against the Whitstable pairing of Russell Matthews and Scott Taylor and the Sittingbourne duo of Westley Pettman and Ali McCue.

These three teams will be gunning for the on-form Jason Bibby and Tony Brown who start as F2 favourites.

Andy Dingsdale and Kim Aldridge from Broadstairs will be one of the Super Sidecar favourites.

They will be up against the Faversham-based London fireman Tim Bradshaw and Clive Johnson.

Lydden Hill is situated on the A2, five miles north of Dover. The programme of 28 races for Saturday starts at 10.25am with 25 races on Sunday beginning at 12.45pm.
