Biker airlifted to hospital after crash in Strood

A motorcyclist was airlifted to a London Hospital after his bike was in collsion with a car in Strood on Friday

Police closed a section of London Road, Strood, near to Woodstock Road, after the rider was injured in the collision.

The crash happened at about 2.10pm, but it was unclear at the time of writing how serious his injures were.

He was taken by the Kent Air Ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.

The road was closed from Northcote Road, to Woodstock Road, while the emergency services deal with the incident and police carry out investigations.

One motorist caught up in the tailbacks, but didn’t want to be named, said: “Drivers can’t use London Road, as police have blocked the road and are diverting traffic along Northcote Road.

There are huge tailbacks in the area, and the air ambulance landed and took the injured man away.”
