Biker has 'up to £40,000 of cocaine' in his rucksack - court hears

A motorcyclist who crashed near Ramsgate was found with up to £40,000 of suspected cocaine in his rucksack.

Kent Police had attempted to stop Adam Taylor's powerful Honda CBR600 motorbike on the Thanet Way because of the alleged speed it was travelling at.

Officers eventually caught up with the 28-year-old after he failed to negotiate a bend on Clive Road, Cliffs End.

When they searched his rucksack, they found a kilo of the suspected drug with a street value of between £32,000 and £40,000.

Taylor, who lives in Vale Road, Ramsgate, was charged with possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and also with dangerous driving.

He was due to appear before magistrates on Saturday morning (April 25).
