A man has died today after his motorbike was involved in a crash on a main road.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene on the A261 at Hythe by ambulance staff.

His Yamaha bike collided with a BMW 4x4 at around 8am.

London Road has been closed in both directions.

A diversion is available via Barrack Hill to Sandling and the A20, but is not suitable for lorries and other heavy vehicles.

Police and an accident investigation team are at the scene.
